NEW* Covid Update and FAQ

Are you currently taking photo sessions?

It sure has been an interesting 2020, 2021 (and hopefully less interesting in 2022!), which has led me to take a break from the photography business. I hope to start booking newborn sessions again in 2022.

Are you vaccinated and following COVID safety procedures?

I am fully vaccinated and for added precaution will wear a mask and sanitize often during any session! If anyone is feeling ill (including myself), I do ask that we reschedule.

General FAQ

How long have you been doing photos for?

I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember:) Professionally, I have been taking photos since 2005 in a variety of exciting subjects like local news, real estate, weddings and corporate. I started specializing in family and newborn photography in 2009:)

What is included in the price?

I offer a flat rate package of $400 (plus PST)  for a family session and $500 (plus PST) for a newborn session. This fee includes the session itself and also your choice of 20 (family session)/ 30 (newborn session ) high-resolution digital images. These digital images are edited and ready to print. After you have viewed your gallery, you can choose to  purchase additional images and/or prints. This is completely optional:)

How many images will be in my gallery to choose from?

Newborn galleries typically have 125+ images and family sessions typically have 100+ images. The initial package comes with your choice of 20 (family session) / 30 (newborn session) images to select from your full gallery. I often can’t decide whether I like an image in colour or black and white, so there may be both versions included as well. If you like both the colour and black/white, this would just count as one selection.

What if I wanted to select more images than what is included?

If you did want more images than what comes with your session (newborn sessions include 30, family sessions includes 20), you can always purchase add-on digitals once you have seen your gallery.  All pricing information can be found here

What are digital images?

Digital images are a high resolution.jpg file of the image you have selected in your gallery. These files are edited and ready to be printed (at any lab of your choice).

Can I print my photos anywhere?

I provide a print release along with your digital download, so you will be able to print your images anywhere you like. BUT… I also want your memories to look their best!  I do always highly recommend using photo labs that specialized in photography like  Photo Central, The LabWorks, or Dons Photo. With some other printers,  the quality and colours of your prints may not look like what you’ve seen in your gallery. I also offer high quality, professional lab prints and products that can be easily ordered right from your gallery.

Do you offer prints and products?

I do offer high quality, professional lab prints and products that can be easily ordered right from your gallery. Other products include canvasses, albums, matted prints and more:)

Do you travel outside of Winnipeg?

I currently travel up to 25 minutes outside of the perimeter for no additional charge.

Do you have a studio?

I don’t have indoor studio (but I am dreaming of one, someday soon!) I do love Aspire Studios, in the exchange district if you were interested in renting space for an indoor studio session.

When should I book my session?

In order to give my clients the best experience possible, I only schedule a few sessions a month. I do suggest booking your newborn session a few months in advance. For fall family sessions, I typically begin bookings in early summer.

What is a digital download? Do you offer USBs?

Once your favourite images are finalized, I send you a link to download a zip folder of your images. These can then be saved to your computer, hard drive, USB, etc. I can provide a USB for an additional $15 (or it is included with the purchase of your full gallery).

Are you available on weekends?

I try and schedule all of my sessions during the weekdays. I do have some limited Saturday availability:) During the fall season I do book family sessions on weekends!

Newborn FAQ

When should I book my newborn session?

It’s never too early to book your newborn session. I only schedule a few sessions a month, so I suggest booking a few months in advance.

When and where do newborn session’s take place?

Newborn sessions will take place in your home, typically when baby is between 5-14 days.

What if the baby comes early? Late? Do we pick a session date beforehand?

Since we never really know when the baby is arriving, I typically book you in for around a week past your due date and then we can just adjust our session date once the baby arrives!

Are you up to date on your immunizations?

I have all my immunizations, including the Whooping Cough vaccine.

How can I prepare for my newborn session?

Once we have secured your session spot I will email you a Welcome Guide that has some tips on how to prepare for your session!

Can my pet be a part of the session?

Yep! Fur siblings are always welcome to join in the fun! I do like to make sure baby is always safe though and will often ask parents to hold pets for the photos with baby, since pets can often startle easily:)

I’m not sure my house will work for photos…

Having the session in your home is what really personalizes your session, so even if you think your house may be too dark, cluttered, small or anything else you may be worried about, I promise it will work and turn out beautifully- because it represents you:) I may even use spots in your house that you wouldn’t even think may work (I’ve taken photos in kitchens, bathrooms and hallways, you just never know!)

Family Session FAQ

How far in advance should I book my family session?

I offer family sessions at limited times throughout the year.

How often do you have mini-sessions?

I occasionally hold mini-session throughout the year:) I post all of my mini-session dates on my Facebook and Instagram.

How much are multi-generational sessions (or sessions with more than 5 people)?

Family sessions are $400 for up to 5 people. Each additional person (1 year and older) is $25 for up to a maximum of 12 people.

Where are the family sessions held? How long do they last?

Family sessions can take place at any location you like throughout the city (or just outside of the city). I do have a few favourite spots that I love and can recommend as well. The sessions typically last about 60-90 minutes.

What if the weather is bad?

If it’s raining or unseasonably cold/windy, we can reschedule your session for the next available date. During the fall, make-up dates may have to take place during a weekday if no weekends are available.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask:)
